I'm trying to play the game with the Valve Index, but when I open the game, my controllers aren't showing up and the only way I can do anything is if I use my headset to press the play button, like I have to literally hit my head on the play button to get past the main menu. I can't move or do anything else. Movement isn't an option so I'm just standing there. My controllers are connected but the game doesn't recognize them. Any ideas on how to fix this? I've rebought the game numerous times and tried reinstalling over and over again. I don't want to have wasted my money on this bc I really want to enjoy it.
EDIT: Steam VR Settings -> Video -> Pause VR when Headset is idle (change it to OFF)
EDIT 2: To fix the running in desktop mode issue, dont open steam VR, run the game as admin, which should open Steam VR and force you into the game, also this fixes the Index's issue with the the controllers not appearing/ headset being used as a controller input rather than the controllers themselves. You may need to close VR and repeat this because the game is a bit quirky with Steam VR, but it should work.

Meta Quest 2
RTX 2070 SUPER
Ryzhen 5 - 4600g
16 RAM GB DDR4 3200MHZ
Some points to make a better experience:
A settings menu to remove or reduce the lighting, as in the main room and bedrooms the game is a little hard on the eyes.
Maybe use different audios for each of the characters?
Remove the rotation setting from SnapDragon and set it to a smoother movement.
Interactive character perhaps? Like a VrChat avatar for example.
Bugs reletad:
In some cases the movement overlay was being activated without me having used the analogue to walk, the controls on my QUEST are recent and have no internal problems.
At the arrow to change the intensity of the movements, sometimes the game would freeze or become too slow to change the intensity.
In CHIKU’s specific case, the exit button is behind her hair, which wasn’t really possible to see at first.
In some rooms, a red warning appears all the time indicating “LIGHTNING NEED TO BE REBUILD”
To move you have to use the right stick pointing where you want to move, there are parts in the game where it just won't let you move, but freedom of movement will be available and improved in the next update, would you like to suggest any ideas?
many are having problems with paypal, it is recommended that you do not pay with paypal since many are having problems, you have the problem solved, look at paypal
it happened to me. i paid for the game 3 times payed 18,95€ but never received it. it's just stupid that i didn't see the message earlier. is there a way to get my money back?
As I understand it at the moment, the game is just a set of animations and that's it? If there is no interactive interaction in the VR version, then this is a very strange project.
Project i wonder... If you're an Unreal Developer and looked around a little you will see that the everything other then the models and animations is Free Assets that can be gotten from the Unreal Store.
So if you are right about there being no interaction, then the project in this case seems to be to just click through the buttons and watch the animations...
The non vr version is the same (there is a non vr version to download here too)
I expected a lot more out of this than just watching some animations with no climax lol got the patreon version and cant even play the dlc really hope this big update makes the game actually interact-able because im not really interested in just watching
So I haven't bought it yet, but i think why they increased the price was that the vr version was not working properly so they were going to fix it, or at least I hope that's the case, but just wait, as I will be as well, and hope to buy it when it is ready!
